What a Result! Now, What’s Next?

Here is a message we just sent out to supporters:

What a night!  After all of our hard work over the past 5 months, it’s great to be through the primary.  And I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.  With nine candidates running, we placed third with more than 2000 votes between us and the fourth place candidate.  And the two candidates that received more votes have been in Urban County Council more than 19 years, and have the incredible name recognition from all of that time.  I’m excited about the results, and I hope you are too.

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for our campaign so far.  This campaign has been built on the strength of volunteers and contributors like you, and we’d be nowhere without your help and support.

That said, we’ve still got a long way to go. There are six months until the General Election, and we’ve got a lot to do. We’ll need to raise more than double the amount of money we’ve already raised.  We’ll need to talk to thousands more voters, and deliver tens of thousands of literature pieces to their door.  And, most of all, we’ll need to expand our campaign to harness the support of thousands of other volunteers.

Can you renew your commitment to the campaign today?  We need people willing to take leadership roles in the campaign, we need people willing to commit to raising money for the campaign, and we need people willing to hold house parties for the campaign and invite all of their friends.  Which one can you do?
