North Charleston City Council Candidate district 8

ABOUT

As a lifelong resident of North Charleston, I have our community's best interests in mind.

I Love this community. I have devoted my entire life to working to make our community a better place for people and animals.

As the Director of Community Engagement for Charleston Animal Society for the last 30 years, I have dealt with many situations that required communication skills, negotiation, and working with others for a common goal. I have developed the skills to deal with local government local businesses and private citizens. I can provide the leadership and that’s why I am running for Council.

MISSION

I will listen to your concerns while leading us into the future. I will take into consideration the voices of my district, and the quality of life of our residents while balancing progressive ideas. I will strive to keep District 8 the viable popular place it is to live without compromising our safety or quality of life. I will advocate for all citizens including the elderly, our children, and all living creatures. I will be fiscally responsible. I am the candidate who will speak for you our community and our children's future

EXPERIENCE

As a teenager, I became involved in local and national politics working behind the scenes on critical human rights issues. I helped my dad as he fought for the rights of State retirees to keep their pensions and to get the services they worked so hard to receive. I helped to get petitions signed to make North Charleston a city.

I have practical experience serving as the secretary for Palmetto Gardens Neighborhood Council for over 9 years. We implemented crime watch programs, community clean sweeps, and more.

I have worked for over 30 years at Charleston Animal Society which has brought me into contact with many businesses and individuals. I have participated in a variety of community projects and lent my expertise to many causes. My creative nature, ability to listen and love of my community are my greatest assets and will help me to be a voice for all the citizens throughout our city.

Community

I am running for North Charleston City Council because it is TIME. Time for change time for new voices to be heard. I have dedicated my life to being a voice for our community and as your councilperson I will be able to implement creative and unique solutions to the problems we face in our city. My vast communication skills will bring our community together.
