Vice Mayor Steve Kay is a candidate for one of three council-at-large positions on the 15-member Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council. The Council is the legislative body for Lexington-Fayette County, Kentucky.
The primary election takes place on May 22, 2018. In that election, registered Lexington-Fayette County voters can vote for three at-large candidates. The six candidates who get the most votes compete in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Of those six, the three candidates with the most votes earn a four-year term as council member at large. Of the three winners, the candidate with the most votes becomes the city's vice mayor.
